Albright College to Welcome Class of 2021

Reading, Pa. – Albright College’s incoming freshman class will move in on Thursday, Aug. 24.
The 480-member Class of 2021 will push total traditional day enrollment to the nearly 1,700 mark. The freshmen will be joined by an additional 32 transfer students.
The newcomers are drawn from 17 states, including Pennsylvania, New Jersey, California, Colorado, Iowa, Kansas, and Georgia, and from six foreign countries, including China, Ethiopia, Gambia, Ghana, Japan and Macau.
The Class of 2021 is approximately 50 percent ethnically/racially diverse.
Welcome Weekend events include:
Thursday, Aug. 24

  • 8 a.m. – 2 p.m. New Student Move-In – Faculty, staff, current students and alumni will help new students and their parents move belongings into residence halls.
  • 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Services Fair – Students and parents will explore various resources available to assist the newcomers with their transition to Albright. The fair will be held in the McMillan Student Center and include information from the Academic Learning Center, Public Safety, Disability Services, Schumo Center for Fitness and Well-Being and more.
  • 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. Lunch – New students and their families will be treated to lunch on the Great Lawn. Rain location – Dining Hall.
  • 2 p.m. – 3 p.m. President’s Welcome – President Jacquelyn S. Fetrow, Ph.D. ’82 will welcome new students and their families to Albright. Held in Memorial Chapel.

Friday, Aug. 25

  • 8:30 a.m. – 10 a.m. Convocation. A special academic ceremony, held in Memorial Chapel, that signifies the new student’s matriculation at Albright. New students will be formally welcomed into the academic community by faculty, staff and student leaders.

Welcome Weekend, held Aug. 24 to 27, is led by upperclassmen, the Albright POPS (Peer Orientation Persons), who take the newcomers under their wings. The primary goal of the program is to acclimate new students to all aspects of Albright’s campus.
Returning students will move in on Sunday, Aug. 27. Classes begin Monday, Aug. 28.
