Hell Creek dig

Unearthing fossils at Montana’s Hell Creek

Hell Creek dig

A fascinating summer adventure for seven Albright College students and two faculty members involved excavating pieces of dinosaur bones, teeth and other objects from the hot and dusty Hell Creek formation in the Montana badlands — one of the most famous and intensely studied dinosaur fossil sites in the world.

“There’s no better way for students to learn than to be on site like they were.” said Ian Cost, Ph.D., assistant professor of biology, who organized the trip and accompanied students to the dig.
