Albright College Opens New Golf Performance Center to Enhance Student Athletes’ Skills and Recruitment

Reading, PA (March 20, 2025) – Albright College is proud to announce the official opening of its state-of-the-art Golf Performance Center (GPC), a cutting-edge facility designed to elevate the skills of its student athletes, improve team performance, and serve as a powerful recruiting tool for the College’s expanding golf programs, attracting top-tier talent from around the world. As the facility continues to evolve, it will help Albright College’s golf program compete at the highest level, ensuring the success of future student athletes

The Golf Performance Center is more than just a golf simulator space—it is a dedicated environment for improvement and development. Eric D. Lamm, Albright’s Head Men’s and Women’s Golf Coach, worked closely with industry experts, local simulator businesses, and regional colleges to ensure the design and technology would be on par with top golf training facilities.

Key Features of the Golf Performance Center:

  • Premium Impact Screen: A 10-foot high, 17-foot wide screen designed to simulate real-course conditions for a highly immersive experience.
  • Putting Greens: Three state-of-the-art putting greens, endorsed by top PGA professionals and golf instructors, allowing players to hone their short game.
  • Uneekor Launch Monitor Technology: The GPC features the most advanced launch monitor system available, including the Performance Optix Package with dual Optix cameras and a Balance Mat for accurate ball flight tracking and swing analysis.
  • Gaming Computer and Simulator Software: A powerful gaming system with the latest golf simulator software, allowing coaches and players to analyze, teach, and refine all aspects of the game.
  • Indoor Winter Training: The GPC will allow Albright’s golfers to practice year-round, maximizing their training time even during the off-season.

This new facility is designed to offer student athletes the opportunity to practice, analyze, and improve their game without leaving campus. Additionally, the GPC enables players to virtually experience, practice, and play on some of the world’s most iconic golf courses, further enhancing the team’s training experience.

Assistant Golf Coach Hank Kline and Coach Lamm—former teammates on the nationally-ranked 1977 University of Delaware golf team—worked tirelessly to construct and install the simulator and its accompanying features. In the fall semester, Coach Lamm and his Men’s & Women’s Golf Teams will host regular contests for Albright College students to introduce, educate and further advance the game of golf.

Building a Global Team

The success of the Albright College Golf Program is evident in its growing roster under Coach Lamm’s leadership. The men’s team now boasts 12 members, while the women’s team has four. These teams attract players from around the globe, including Germany, Sweden, Portugal, Thailand, India, and the United States, including California, Kansas, and Florida.

Coach Lamm expressed his gratitude for the ongoing support: “The future is bright for Albright Golf. The community has truly embraced this opportunity to help our student athletes grow and develop. I’m beyond thankful for everyone who contributed to making this dream a reality.”

This innovative new space was made possible through the generous contributions of John Scholl, Albright College Class of 1969, and Eric D. Lamm, Albright’s Head Men’s and Women’s Golf Coach. Their vision, coupled with the collaborative efforts of the Albright College community, has resulted in a truly world-class resource for golfers.
