Albrightians published in Berks County Living magazine

Albright students, alumni and staff members penned all 35 “Best of Berks” profiles for Berks County Living magazine’s December 2021 issue.

Working with Editor Nikki Murry, Albright English Instructor Marian Wolbers coordinated and edited the articles for the magazine. Berks County Living award winners are nominated by thousands of community members and Berks County Living readers.

Albright authors:

Sue-Ella Benjamin of Philadelphia, Pa., penned the Best Place for a ManiPedi article. A graduate of Northeast High School, Benjamin is studying biology and chemistry at Albright.

Jordan Brown of Selinsgrove, Pa., penned the Best Summer Camp and Best Family Restaurant articles. A graduate of Selinsgrove Area High School, Brown is studying English and secondary education at Albright.

Elizabeth Churchill of Secaucus, N.J., penned the Best (Local) Museum or Gallery Space article. A graduate of Secaucus High School, Churchill is studying biology at Albright.

Alexa Cipolla of Reading, Pa., penned the Best Fine Dining and Best Pet-Friendly Business articles. A graduate of Wilson High School, Cipolla is studying business administration and fashion at Albright.

Liam Dalesandro of Robesonia, Pa., penned the Best Fitness Facility article. A graduate of Conrad Weiser High School, Dalesandro is studying Alpha at Albright.

Michael Foster of West Chester, Pa., penned the Best Lasik Surgery Practice article. A class of 2021 Albright alumnus and a graduate of West Chester Bayard Rustin High School, Foster studied Communications: Journalism at Albright.

Shelby Fulmer of Newfield, N.J., penned the Best Financial Institution article. A graduate of Buena Regional High School, Fulmer is studying computer science at Albright.

Joseph Glenn of Nottingham, Md., penned the Best Seafood Market article. A graduate of Archbishop Curley High School, Glenn is studying business administration/international business and international relations at Albright.

Stephanie Hegedus of Blandon, Pa., penned the Best Place to Break for Lunch article. A graduate of Fleetwood Area High School, Hegedus is studying fashion/merchandising at Albright.

Katie Ayala Hernandez of Reading, Pa., penned the Best Landscaping Company and Best Specialty Store or Market articles. A graduate of Reading Senior High School, Ayala Hernandez is studying business administration/management and digital communications at Albright.

Carmen Johnson of Philadelphia, Pa., penned the Best Home and Garden Store article. A graduate of Central High School, Johnson is studying English and Spanish at Albright.

Danielle Kline of Fair Lawn, N.J., penned the Best Spot for Outdoor Dining article. A graduate of Fair Lawn High School, Kline is studying fashion/costume design at Albright.

Kimberly Liu of Philadelphia, Pa., penned the Best Hair Salon and Best Spot for Breakfast articles. A graduate of Philadelphia High School for Girls, Liu is studying art and communications/journalism at Albright.

Timothy Morris of Easton, Pa., penned the Best Veterinary Practice article. A graduate of Easton Area High School, Morris is studying game and simulation development at Albright.

Ann-Katleen Pierre Louis Seraphin of Temple, Pa., penned the Best Kids’ Menu (non-chain) article. A graduate of Muhlenberg High School, Pierre Louis Seraphin is studying art at Albright.

Hannah Portuguez of Fountainville, Pennsylvania, penned the Best Realtor; Best Place to Get Dessert article. A graduate of Pennridge High School, Portuguez is studying Business Administration at Albright.

Gillian Umstead of Thornton, Pa., penned the Best Public Golf Course, Best Local Winery and Best Residential Senior Living Facility articles. A graduate of Garnet Valley High School, Umstead is studying business administration/marketing at Albright.

Variah Ward of Oakland, Calif., penned the Best Spot for Yoga article. A graduate of Stagg Senior High School, Ward is studying psychology and English at Albright.

McKinley Williams of Poca, W.Va., penned the Best Place for BBQ (non-chain) article. A graduate of Poca High School, Williams is studying English at Albright.

Albright fashion instructor and alumna Kylah Freeman ’16, staff member Kelly Tanger and alumna Samantha Koller ’17 are also credited as writers on the project. Author bylines are listed after each Best of Berks category.
