Free concerts ring in the holiday season

Music is in the air this holiday season at Albright College with a number of free instrumental and vocal performances that are open to the public. Beginning Nov. 30 and running through Dec. 9, large harmonious ensembles will be offset by individual performers and a visit from Santa.
Free upcoming musical performances include:
Big Cat Jazz Concert
Fri., Nov. 30, 7:30 p.m., Memorial Chapel
Big Cat Jazz is an advanced traditional and classic wind ensemble performing music representative of many eras of jazz history, with emphasis on swing and improvisation.
Symphonic Band Concert
Sat., Dec. 1, 7:30 p.m., Memorial Chapel
Albright’s Symphonic Band features classic and contemporary music.
Sunday Sinfonia at Albright College
Sun., Dec. 2, 3 p.m., Memorial Chapel
Samba with Santa
Fri., Dec. 7, 4-7 p.m., Roop Hall, Center for the Arts
This Reading Samba School family-friendly evening of music and entertainment will feature the Albright Angels and Mane Men, as well as Albright Improv. Santa will also be on hand for pictures. Samba with Santa is sponsored by the Berks Arts Council, a partner of the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts.
Sounds of the Season, a Choral Concert
Sat., Dec. 8, 7:30 p.m., Memorial Chapel
Celebrate the music of the holidays with Albright’s four choral ensembles: Albright Angels, Concert Choir, Mane Men and Women’s Chorale.
Roar Like a Lion, Music Student Recital
Sun., Dec. 9, 3 p.m., Roop Hall, Center for the Arts
Albright’s end-of-the-semester student recital offers a variety of vocal and instrumental performances.
