An enduring work, written by Tennessee Williams in 1944, changed how American performances looked and sounded. It will be directed by Albright Associate Professor of Theatre Julia Matthews, Ph.D.

The play’s narrator and restless protagonist, Tom, lives in a dingy St. Louis apartment with his mother (a faded Southern, middle-aged belle) and his shy sister, Laura. When Amanda persuades Tom to bring home a “gentleman caller” for Laura, the family’s illusions begin to crumble. This tender family drama established Tennessee Williams’ reputation as a great American dramatist of the 20th century.

“Hooray for Fascism!” is an original sketch comedy revue exploring all the grandeur, glory and mayhem of the 2024 presidential election. Written by the company and directed by Matt Fotis, Ph.D., associate professor of theatre at Albright, the improv work aims to provide some relief just before a contentious election.

The author of multiple books, Fotis has recently released “Fifty Key Improv Performers.” He teaches improvisation, comedy studies and writing for performance at Albright.
