The Paintings of Richard Hamwi will begin on June 6 and be on view through June 29, 2018, at the Hanover Area Arts Guild in Hanover, Pa. The exhibit will include a selection of Hamwi’s paintings and collage work throughout the past ten years of his career.
Richard Hamwi, a professor of art at Albright College, said he approaches his work through themes that derive from nature and experience. He states, “Each image evolves from a feeling or concept which asks to be communicated visually. I find challenge and joy in creating images that may imply sources of inspiration, such as landscape, architecture, music, and poetry.”
Following the Hanover Area Arts Guild’s all-members meeting on Monday, June 25,
Hamwi will make a presentation about his work at 7:45 p.m. This event is open to the public and there will be a reception following.
The Hanover Area Arts Guild Gallery is located at 32 Carlisle Street, Hanover, Pa., 17331. Gallery hours are Tuesday-Thursday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.; Friday, 10 a.m.-7 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m.-3 p.m.; and closed on Sunday.
