For the 14th year in a row, Albright College has been named one of the best schools in the Northeast by The Princeton Review.
Albright is one of 229 colleges and universities named to The Princeton Review’s “Best Northeastern” list, part of the company’s “2018 Best Colleges: Region by Region” online feature.
“We chose Albright College and the other outstanding institutions on this list primarily for their excellent academics,” said Robert Franek, The Princeton Review’s editor-in-chief.
The Princeton Review compiles the list based on data collected from surveys of administrators at several hundred colleges in each region, as well as staff visits to schools, and the perspectives of college counselors and advisors. The company also considers what current students have to say, surveying them about their campus experience.
On The Princeton Review’s school profile page for Albright, surveyed students describe the College as a “close-knit” community “full of diversity and passion.” Albright, they say, “prides itself on giving students a well-rounded education no matter [their] major.” Students note the College’s especially “strong arts and theater program and a prestigious pre-professional…sciences program.” Surveyed students also report that their professors are “extremely passionate about what they teach” and truly “care about their students.”
Surveyed students also note Albright’s small class sizes, experiential learning opportunities, plethora of extracurricular activities, and report that the student body, drawn from “all walks of life,” is welcoming, creative, engaged and friendly. “It is nice to walk across campus and feel like you’re at home,” says one student.
The 229 colleges that The Princeton Review chose for its Best Northeastern 2018 list are located in 11 states. In total, the company recognized 658 colleges and universities in the different geographic regions, representing about 25 percent of the nation’s 2,500 four-year colleges. Schools in the Best Colleges: Region by Region feature are not ranked.
