READING, PA – June 16, 2025 – Albright College is thrilled to announce that its newly renovated Learning Commons will be named the Joyce Family Foundation Learning Commons, in recognition of a transformational gift from Jeff Joyce ’83, his wife Cindy Joyce, and the Joyce Family Foundation. This extraordinary generosity will directly support Albright students by enhancing collaborative learning, innovation, and academic success for generations to come.
The Joyce Family Foundation Learning Commons represents a reimagining of a collaborative learning space. It serves as a modern hub that integrates the Gingrich Library with academic support services, enhanced access to technology, group study spaces, and other critical academic resources. This innovative facility creates a centralized location where students can access comprehensive academic support in a collaborative, technology-rich environment.

Jeff Joyce, a 1983 graduate of Albright College, has been a driving force behind numerous college initiatives throughout his distinguished service to the institution. He served on the College’s Board of Trustees from 2008 to 2019, including six years as Chair, and was named Chairman Emeritus in 2020. In 2024, he received the prestigious Jacob Albright Award, the College’s highest alumni honor, recognizing his exceptional contributions to the institution.
Together, Jeff and Cindy Joyce have supported a wide range of strategic efforts that have enhanced the Albright experience. Their philanthropic leadership includes the launch of the Advancing Lives Scholarship program, upgrades to Roessner Hall, technology enhancements in South Lounge, and foundational support for the College’s eSports program. The naming of the Joyce Family Foundation Learning Commons adds another significant chapter to their legacy of transformative giving and support of Albright College.
The Joyce Family Foundation Learning Commons will serve as a cornerstone of academic life at Albright, providing students with access to modern learning technologies, collaborative workspaces, and comprehensive academic support services all under one roof. This integrated approach reflects current best practices in higher education and responds directly to evolving student needs.
A formal dedication and celebration of the Joyce Family Foundation Learning Commons will take place during the upcoming academic year in coordination with the Joyce family. Details regarding the dedication ceremony will be announced at a later date.
