Albright College class of 2028

Albright College again earns Washington Monthly recognition

Earns both ‘Best Colleges’ and ‘affordability’ rankings for 2024

After studying approximately 1,500 private and public colleges across the country, Washington Monthly has ranked only 194 Best Liberal Arts Colleges for 2024, based on their contribution to the public good. Albright College, in Reading, Pa., has moved up in Washington Monthly’s Best Colleges list each of the last several years, to a position of 81 for 2024.

Albright has also earned placement on the publication’s Best Bang for the Buck list each of the last several years, currently ranked 238 for 2024, in the northeast.

Based in Washington, D.C., Washington Monthly is a bimonthly nonprofit magazine on U.S. politics and government. Its college rankings are based on social mobility, research and providing opportunities for public service. Specifically for the America’s Best Bang for the Buck Colleges, Washington Monthly rates schools according to “how well they help non-wealthy students attain marketable degrees at affordable prices.”

Recognizing that about half of Albright students are the first in their family to attend college and a significant number are Pell recipients, the college continues to advance offerings in support of students who face academic and social challenges. Proactive student-centered infrastructure, like the Lifting up Lions initiative, combined with team advising initiatives — like the availability of personal success coaches for each student, aim to strengthen student success.

Albright has been repeatedly recognized for social mobility in recent years and a 2019 Georgetown study using College Scorecard data showed that long term earnings for Albright graduates far outpace median earnings of all private, public and for-profit institutions across the country.
