Patrick Blaine Named Associate Provost

Patrick Blaine, Ph.D. has joined Albright College as associate provost for academic programs, planning and assessment.

In this new position, Blaine will provide institutional leadership, management and oversight of the implementation and assessment of the comprehensive academic programs that support the college’s mission and strategic initiatives.

As a leader and champion in the areas of curricular innovation, assessment and accreditation, Blaine’s work will involve collaboration with faculty and staff to promote college-wide student learning outcomes and programmatic assessments that will promote ongoing improvement — impacting students of all ages.  

Having earned a Bachelor of Arts in English and Spanish from the University of Iowa and a doctorate in comparative literature from the University of Washington, Blaine comes to the Reading, Pa., community from Lane Community College in Eugene, Oregon — where he began as dean of language, literature and communication, and finished as interim associate vice president of academic affairs and institutional effectiveness.

Blaine is also an expert grant reviewer for the U.S. Department of Education, specifically involved with their TRIO program and has previously served as a grant consultant for McAllister & Quinn.
